He was speaking at a programme organised by District Photographers and Videographers Association to commemorate World Photography Day at the Institution of Engineers-India (IEI) on JLB Road here yesterday which featured felicitation pratibha puraskar and distribution of prizes.
The Minister inaugurated the programme in an innovative and befitting way by clicking a snap with the camera fixed on a tripod.
Referring to newspapers, Sreenivasa Prasad pointed out that readers would not understand and appreciate a news item unless it was supported by a candid photo which would augment curiosity. He added that any catastrophe would be well-defined through a photo which would infuse humility in people.
Senior photographers S. Nagaraj and N.J. Sudhir were felicitated on the occasion.
Pratibha puraskar was accorded to meritorious students who excelled in SSLC and PUC.
MLA M.K. Somashekar was the chief guest. Assn. President G.T. Ramesh Kumar presided. IEI Chairman Dr. T. Ananthapadmanabha, Kollapur Temple Development Cell President Nagaraj and others were present.
