3-Day Coorg Tour Itinerary from Bangalore
Two nights in Coorg give you sightseeing on the way in, a full day on the Talakaveri side and a morning around Kushalnagar before the drive home. An early pickup from Bangalore on Day 1 lets you reach Raja’s Seat in time for sunset.
Your driver picks you up from home, hotel, airport or station in Bangalore, and you head towards Coorg by private cab.
Your first stop is Bylakuppe, one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India. At The Tibetan Golden Temple / Namdroling Monastery, giant gilded Buddha statues fill a richly painted prayer hall, and young monks go about their day in the courtyards.
Continue into the hills for a coffee estate visit, where you see how coffee and pepper grow side by side under the shade trees that give Coorg its green canopy.
End the day at Raja’s Seat in Madikeri, where the Kodava kings once watched the sun set over layer after layer of hills. Overnight in Coorg.
After breakfast, drive through forest and coffee country to Bhagamandala. Visit the Kerala-style Bhagandeshwara Temple and Triveni Sangama, where the Kaveri meets the Kannike river.
Climb on to Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri hills, the source of the Cauvery. The steps above the temple open up wide views across the Western Ghats on a clear day.
Back near Madikeri, take the short walk down through coffee and pepper plantations to Abbey Falls, then visit Omkareshwara Temple, known for its unusual mix of Islamic and Gothic styles. Overnight in Coorg.
Check out after an early breakfast and drive to Dubare Elephant Camp on the banks of the Cauvery. Cross the river by boat and watch the camp elephants being bathed and fed by their mahouts.
Next, cross the hanging bridge into Kaveri Nisargadhama, a river island of bamboo groves, shaded paths and a small deer park.
