Pickup from Bangalore (Airport, Railway Station, Bus Stand, Hotel or Residence) at a convenient time in the morning. Sit back and enjoy the drive through the picturesque Bandipur National Park and Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, where you might catch glimpses of deer, monkeys and, with some luck, elephants along the way.

On arrival in Ooty, check in to your hotel and take some time to refresh after the journey. The rest of the day is kept light so you don’t feel rushed. In the evening, you can explore Ooty’s local markets at your own pace for homemade chocolates, woollens and souvenirs, or simply relax and enjoy the cool weather near your hotel. Note: If you opt for an earlier start from Bangalore, a short visit to Ooty Lake or Rose Garden can be added on this day, while still keeping the overall pace comfortable.

After breakfast, proceed for full-day sightseeing in and around Ooty. Start with the Government Botanical Garden, a beautifully landscaped garden with themed sections, rare plant species and an ancient fossil tree trunk. Continue to the Rose Garden, home to thousands of colourful rose varieties that create a vibrant, photogenic setting.

Next, visit the unique Thread Garden, an extraordinary display of plants and flowers, all crafted by hand from woven thread – truly an artistic highlight. Later, drive up to Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in the Nilgiris, offering wide views of the surrounding hills on a clear day.

In the afternoon, visit a Tea Factory and Tea Museum to see how Nilgiri tea is processed and enjoy a tea-tasting session. You can also stop at a Chocolate Factory to sample locally made chocolates. Depending on your interests and timing, you may add smaller attractions like Wax Museum or nearby churches. Return to the hotel by evening. Overnight stay in Ooty.

After breakfast, drive towards Coonoor, a calmer hill station near Ooty known for its tea estates and scenic viewpoints. Visit Dolphin’s Nose, a breathtaking viewpoint offering panoramic views of the Nilgiri hills, tea gardens and distant waterfalls. Then continue to Lamb’s Rock, a favourite spot for photography with dramatic views over the Coimbatore plains.

At a local Tea Estate, walk through the plantations and, if you wish, dress up in traditional attire for a fun photo-shoot amidst the lush green tea gardens – a memorable experience for families and couples. Later, visit Sim’s Park, a beautifully maintained botanical garden featuring exotic plant species from across the world.

On the way back to Ooty, stop at Ketti Valley Viewpoint, which offers one of the most picturesque landscapes of the Nilgiris. Return to Ooty by evening. Overnight stay in Ooty.

Optional Experience: You can enhance this day with a ride on the Nilgiri Heritage (Toy) Train between Ooty and Coonoor, a UNESCO-listed railway known for its tunnels, forests and valley views. Advance booking is strongly recommended as seats are limited.

After early breakfast and hotel check-out by around 9:00 AM, proceed for your final round of sightseeing before returning to Bangalore. Visit the Pine Forest, known for its tall, dense pine trees and popular film-shoot locations. Continue to Wenlock Downs (6th Mile and 9th Mile), where open grasslands and gentle slopes offer excellent photo opportunities and short walks.

Later, visit Pykara Falls, a scenic waterfall surrounded by greenery, and then head to Pykara Lake and Boathouse for a peaceful boating experience amidst the hills (boating charges on direct payment).
