“Industrial laws help in strengthening the bond between employers and employees,” observed S.K. Vontikodi, Presiding Officer, Industrial Tribunal, Mysore.
He was speaking after inaugurating a day-long workshop on ‘Industrial laws: problems and challenges,’ organised jointly by JSS Law College and National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mysore Chapter, at the Silver Jubilee Hall of JSS Law College, Kuvempunagar, this morning.
Pointing out that industry is the backbone of Indian economy, Vontikodi stressed that employees too should be aware of industrial laws.
“Those practising industrial laws should concentrate more on ground realities and put in their sincere efforts to resolve industrial disputes. The labour welfare officers in any industry should work at developing relationship between the employers and employees,” he observed and reiterated that the need for all those involved in Labour Welfare to realise the ground realities in resolving industrial standoffs.
R. Guru, Chairman, N.R. Groups, Mysore, who was the chief guest on the occasion, stressed the need for law practitioners to borne their skills.
Pointing out that this is a world of competition, R. Guru observed that the law practitioners should strive for rendering social justice within the framework of law. He also called upon students to gain knowledge of Company Laws in this era of globalisation, besides acquiring vast knowledge on related topics apart from their academic curriculum.
A.C. Narendra, Advocate and President, Industrial Manangement Association, Mysore, M.P.Nagendra Murthy, K. Anantha Gowda of NIPM, Mysore, were present.
