The State Bank of Mysore (SBM) as part of its centenary year had organised a Centenary Walk this morning.

The walk was flagged off by Additional DC Naga Nayak in the presence of SBM General Manager S. Bangararaju, Deputy General Manager P. Balakishen, Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya and others at 8 am.

Earlier, Bangararaju speaking on the occasion said that State bank of Mysore has completed three centuries this year which are, 100 years of the Bank, Opening of the bank’s 100th branch, which will be opened by Unuion Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and a turnover of Rs. 100 crore as on march 31, 2013.

He further said that the bank offers loans at very competitive rates, has upgraded itself in terms of technology, to install Cash Deposit machines and would focus on the benefits for common man.

Palace Board Deputy Director read out the message from Pramoda Devi Wadiyar.

Bank staff and their family members numbering about 1000 took out a walk from Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple and passed through Clock Tower, Ashoka Road, SBM Main branch, Irwin Road, sayyaji Rao road, D. Devaraj Urs road and culminated at DC office.

As part of the bank’s centenary celebrations, few bank customers will be felicitated at University Fine Arts College auditorium at 4 pm today.

Employees Union Secretary Raghavendra, Ramesh and others were present.
