Mysore, July 22 (KMC)-As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, booth-level officers are going to the doorsteps of voters whose photos are not included in the voters’ lists and issuing forms to include their photos.

The voters are to attach their passport-size photo to the form and return the same to the booth-level officers who in turn would include the photos in the corresponding voters’ lists.

There are also chances of the booth-level officers not being able to locate the addresses of some voters and hence, unable to issue the forms to them in person.

Such voters, along with those who have not yet returned the forms to the poll officials, have been requested to contact the corresponding booth-level officers and return the forms with photos at the earliest.

Those who need information about their booth-level officials concerned may contact either the Mysore City Corporation (those living in the Corporation’s jurisdiction) or the Taluk Office (of their respective taluks).

Stating the above in a press release issued here yesterday, the Deputy Commissioner has said that taluk level officers and two district level officers have been assigned with the job of supervising the voters’ list updating work. They would frequently check the progress of the work, he said and urged the voters and the booth-level officials to provide precise information to the supervising officers.

The DC has also warned of disciplinary action against the booth-level officials found guilty of not making efforts to attain 100 per cent target in the voters’ list updating work and for providing false and misleading information.
