Mysore, July 7 (DV&Abhi)- Heated arguments took place between the members of TTL Trust and leaders of the Uppara community in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner who had visited the hostel premises, following a long-standing controversy between the two parties over the hostel.
Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta, who visited the controversial hostel at Saraswathipuram yesterday evening, inspected the spot and obtained information from the parties concerned.
At this juncture, the TTL Trust members alleged that the leaders of the Uppara Community were unnecessarily interfering. The leaders, irked over the remark, started a row in the presence of Deputy Commissioner and Police Officers.
The Police Officers and staff who were present at the site, stood as mute spectators. Onlookers, who feared that the situation might go beyond control, succeeded in consoling both the groups. A group of protestors, shouting slogans against the TTL Trust Board, stated that they would not allow the site to be taken over by the TTL Trust.
The Deputy Commissioner then intervened and pacified the protestors. Later, he visited the Uppara Students' Hostel and assessed its present condition after speaking to the Uppara Community leaders.
Some MUDA officials who were present at the spot, provided information about the past incidents about the controversial site and its ownership tussle.
The Deputy Commissioner who later spoke to Star of Mysore said, "There are several problems about the controversial site of the TTL Trust. I would hold a meeting of the MUDA officials within the next 10 days and after making a detailed study of the case, would ascertain who the rightful owner of the land is.
