In view of President Pranab Mukherjee's upcoming visit to city tomorrow, the movement of vehicles between Mandakalli Airport and JSS Circle on the busy Mysore-Nanjangud road and from Truck Terminal to Mahatma Gandhi road via Race Course road will be barred from 2.15 pm to 4.30 pm.
City Police Commissioner Dr. M.A. Saleem, in a press release, has said that alternative routes have been suggested by the City Traffic Police. All vehicles heading towards Mysore from Nanjangud should take a right turn near Kabini Bridge and travel to Mysore city through T.N. Pur main road via Basavanapura, Kempasiddaiahana Hundi, Hadinaru, Suttur, Varuna and Teresian College.
To reach Nanjangud from Mysore, commuters have to use Manadawadi road via Gun House, Chamaraja Double road, Ramaswamy Circle, JLB road, Udbur junction, Talur, Sinduvalli and Kadakola.
Locals en route to villages between Mandakalli Airport and Kabini Bridge on Nanjangud road can go to Mysore via Kadakola, Sinduvalli, Talur, Udbur and Manandavadi road.
Vehicles from Bangalore proceeding towards Nanjangud will be allowed only on the Ring Road and such vehicles should take a right turn on Ring Road before Columbia Asia Hospital and reach Nanjangud via KRS junction, Hinkal junction, Bogadi junction, Manandavadi road junction, Udbur, Talur, Sinduvalli and Kadakola.
The Commissioner has urged the people using the roads around JSS Super Speciality Hospital which will be inaugurated tomorrow to take alternative routes to reach their destinations till the function is completed.
Authorities have also identified parking places for visitors including special invitees and those attending the function from the eastern part of the city. They should park their vehicles in Viyashankara Mutt premises, Uttaradi Mutt near JSS Circle and CADA premises.
Those from western part of the city should park their vehicles at JSS College of Science and Arts on Nanjangud road and Doddakere Football Grounds on Bangalore-Nilgiri road.
