More than 1,000 children drawn from various schools in city, accompanied by MLA Tanveer Sait and top Police officials today took out an awareness jatha aimed at propagating the importance of wearing helmets while driving and abiding by prevailing traffic rules.

The jatha which started from M.G. Road in Udayagiri passed through Udayagiri Circle and culminated at Mahadevapura Road and children were seen carrying placards containing messages on road safety.

DCP M.M. Mahdevaiah, former Mayor Ayub Khan, Secretary of Farooquia Educational Institutions Taj Mohammed Khan, Udayagiri Traffic Inspector R.P. Ashok, Devraja Traffic Inspector Shanthamallappa, Devaraja Traffic SI Suresh Kumar, Lashkar Traffic SI Ravi Kumar and others took part in the jatha.
