The inauguration of the fresher’s day of Mahajana Tourism Development Institute was held recently in the institute’s auditorium.
Prof. K. Chidananda Gowda, former VC of Kuvempu University, who was the chief guest, stressed about the intellectual potentiality of the people of India and advised the students to grab the pebbles of knowledge during their stay in colleges.
Stating that the software industry was losing its charm, he said, tourism and hospitality, being the largest service sectors, have got a bright future ahead.
Dr. P.R. Naga Srinivasa, Secretary of Mahajana Education Society, hinted that tourism and hospitality industry satisfies the senses of the tourists.
R. Vasudeva Murthy, President Mahajana Education Society, regretted that in spite of very good employment opportunity for tourism graduates, lesser number of students from Karnataka are taking these courses.
