About 27 students from various art colleges in the country along with the students of Chamarajendra Govt. College of Visual Arts (CAVA), Mysore who had participated in the Sixth National Level Fine Arts College Students Workshop - 2013, held between Aug. 24 and 31, brought out their creativity in the form of various art forms during the workshop.
Art students in the department of Painting, Applied Art, Sculpture, Graphics and Photography had displayed their works at the CAVA gallery. The students had used cardboard, stones, threads and other materials as the medium for their arts.
The workshop also included discussions and slide shows and saw participation of a large number of students.
CAVA Dean V.A. Deshpande speaking to Star of Mysore said that the students received ample exposure in art and a surge to their creativity by getting an opportunity to interact with stalwarts from prominent art institutions during the workshop.
Periodic workshops are conducted where renowned artists and lecturers from fine arts universities share their knowledge and skill with the students. These workshops are conducted with the sole objective of providing exposure, insight and training to students to the largest extent possible.
CAVA also organises tours, seminars, internships and exhibitions of works executed by its students and leading artists. Student art works are also exhibited during Dasara festivities.
Ramdas Adyantaya, former dean of CAVA, Walter D’Souza, Graphics artist from Ahmedabad, Narayan Sutradhar, Sridhar Kakade, Graphic Designer and Kiran Adithya, Photographer all from Bangalore were the resource persons.
