Nanjangud town’s Srikanteshwara Temple, popularly known as ‘Dakshina Kashi’, has recorded a cash collection of Rs. 48,75,693 in the month of May.
The counting of temple hundis was taken up on June 20 during which 60 gms of gold jewellery, 2.5 kgs of silver and foreign currencies were found, apart from the cash.
The counting was done by Indian Overseas Bank personnel and temple staff under the supervision of Temple Executive Officer Chandrasekhar Davanageri, AEO Nagaraj, Muzrai Department’s Yoganarasimhachar and other officials.
