Mysore, June 20-Software Paradigms Infotech Pvt. Ltd (SPI) launched its Toastmasters Club recently at a Charter Ceremony held at SPICity, Mysore.
The event was attended by Sr. Vice-President of SPI V. Madhukar, Toastmasters Area Governor P. Ramgopal, Division Governor Kumaran M. Pethi and Past Area Governor Satyanarayana Raju.
Named Leaders’ Garden, the Association is off to a great start, attracting 35 members.
Toastmasters is one of the world’s leading organisations at teaching public speaking skills and helping people conquer pre-speech jitters. The nonprofit group now has approximately 2,35,000 members in 11,700 clubs in 106 countries.
A Toastmasters Club adopts a "learn-by-doing" philosophy, wherein each member learns at a pace suitable to his or her developmental needs.
"The employees with strong communication skills have a clear advantage over tongue- tied colleagues in a competitive job market. The mission of Leaders’ Garden is to make a positive difference in the members’ personal and professional growth by developing their communication and leadership skills," said Madhukar.
Following the Charter ceremony, Division Governor Kumaran outlined the list of duties that each of the new Club's seven officers will carry out during their term.
