“Translation in literature should match our language and culture,” opined S.R. Ramesh, Principal, Somani Degree College.
He was speaking at a programme organised jointly by Venkatagiri Prakashana, Acharya Purushothama Vidyapeetha, Vaishnavi Sangeetha Sabha and Hirannaiah Prathishtana at Namana Kalamantap in Krishnamurthypuram here yesterday to mark the release of the book Sahitya Chittara written by H.R. Chandravadana.
Ramesh pointed out that language and literature should have a close bondage especially when translation from other language was effected. He lauded the book ‘Sahitya Chittara’ as a confluence of all types of literature with flawless translation.
Writer Vimalasri spoke on the book. Critic K.S. Bhagwan presided. Patron K. Raghuram, publisher N. Girigowda, Hirannaiah Prathishtana Founder A. Sangappa and others were present.
