The achievements of students who had run away from their homes not wanting to continue their education is quite noteable. Anand, Shivu and Karthik, students of Chaitanya Group in Kaliyuva Mane here, have been able to pass their SSLC examination in flying colours.
These are the students who had run away not wanting to continue their education. Anand and Shivu passed with first class marks of 68 percent and 60.08 percent respectively while Karthik passed with 43 percent marks studying in English medium.
Kaliyuva Mane is a residential school where free education and food is provided along with other facilities free of cost. The background of the three students was such that one of the students hailing from H.D. Kote was not at all interested in education, the other had lost his mother and father is visually impaired. Before joining Kaliyuva Mane in 2010 he was studying in a Government Kannada Medium School and the other student lived with his mother after his father deserted them. Despite efforts from his mother, the student was not all attending to the school. Later, with no choice his mother put him in Kaliyuva Mane, said Ananth, Chief of the School.
