Rotary Club of Mysore West, which is hosting Go-Beyond, a Leisure and Lifestyle Exhibition in Mysore during August (9-11), launched the charity project at a press meet held at Hotel President in city this morning.
Mysore Travel Agents Association (MTAA) President Prashanth and Rotary West President Elect (2013-14) Rtn. S.N. Parthanath launched the website www.gobeyond.rotarymysorewest.org and released the brochure of the event.
Addressing the media, the Organising Committee Chairman of the Expo Rtn. J.P. Aiyanna said that Chief Minister Siddharamaiah or Union Tourism Minister Chiranjeevi would inaugurate the event in August.
As a curtain raiser to the event, a seminar to improve tourism in Mysore will be held in Mysore on July 13, he said. Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. of Karnataka Arvind Jadhav will deliver the keynote address.
About the event: To capitalise on the growing tourist influx and to help other tourist destinations in and around Mysore like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Goa, this event has been organised during the off season, said Rtn. Aiyanna.
On display wiil be high-end lifestyle products like Mobile Phones, Hand-held devices, Tablets, Laptops, Digital Cameras, Televisions, Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Dish washers, Furniture, Perfumes & Deodorants, Personal Care products, Wrist Watches, Apparels, Beauty Accessories, Foot wares, Lingerie, High End Properties & Apartments, Sun Glasses, Sports Gear, Gym Equipments, Beauty Salons & Spas.
The Club is also organising food festivals daily from different regions of India in the adjacent Food Courts. Rotary West has been in the forefront of Community Service with two of its on-going projects namely ‘Save a Child’ and ‘Rotary West Institute for Mother & Deaf Child’ having been honoured by Rotary International with ‘Significant Achievement Award’. Earlier the Club had organised Trade, Consumer, Auto and Education fairs in city. Mysore Travel Agents Association (MTAA) has joined hands with Rotary West in the fair while the Department of Tourism, Karnataka, will be the major sponsor and Star of Mysore will be the Media Partner.
