Mysore, Oct. 10 (KK&DM)- District In-charge Minister S.A. Ramdas has called upon the urban populace to watch Raitha Dasara and get acquainted with agriculture.

He was speaking after launching the Raitha Dasara at MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall at JK Grounds here yesterday.

Expressing regret that his instruction to bring school children for Raitha Dasara was not followed by the officials, Ramdas highlighted the problems faced by the farmers.

Ramdas later had an interaction with farmers, during which he accepted suggestions from them and declared that the Raitha Dasara would be launched by the farmers the next time around.

The Minister again instructed the officials to bring children to the Raitha Dasara and educate them by presenting a demonstration on different phases of crop plant growth.

Later, Ramdas presented agriculture awards to several farmers and Best Agriculture Scientist awards.

Forest Minister C.H. Vijayshankar, Mayor Sandesh Swamy, Deputy Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Karnataka Zoo Authority Chairman N. Nanjundaswamy, Raitha Dasara Sub-Committee President S.D. Mahendra and others were present.
