Mysore, Mar. 2 (SH)- Prof. K.N. Anantharamaiah (74), Founder of Ananthageetha Vidyalaya in Vijayanagar, Mysore and a resident of Gokulam here, died in a road mishap in Dubai yesterday.

He had gone there accompanied by his wife Geetha in a package tour with 18 members of Rotary Club of Mysore North. He was killed after being knocked down by a speeding taxi while crossing the road to go to the hotel where the party had lodged.

He is survived by wife Geetha and three sons. Caretaker of Prof. Anantharamaiah's house on 5th Cross, Contour Road in Gokulam, told Star of Mysore that his body is expected to reach Mysore in two days.

Prof. Anantharamaiah, popular for his service-mindedness, had served as a teacher in Physics in many colleges of the city.

Corporator T. Girish Prasad, former Dy. Mayor Suresh Babu, Venugopal and office-bearers of Gokulam Residents Association, of which he was the President, have condoled his death.
