District in-charge Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad has asked the District Administration to provide the needed infrastructure for the Panchalinga Darshan to be held in the taluk from Dec.2 as lakhs of devotees were expected to participate in the festival.

He was addressing a preparatory meeting organised as prelude to the Panchalinga Sarshan at JSS Mangala Mantap in Mudukuthore in the taluk yesterday.

Prasad asked the officers to complete the preparations by Nov.24 as the religious rituals would commence from Nov.28.

He said that the Chief Minister would be arriving straight from the Legislature Session in Belgaum on Dec.2 and hence the helipad should be made ready at a suitable place and added that Rs.12 crore has been released for the festival.

Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha said that a temporary bridge would be constructed by the army to facilitate people coming from Malangi village and added that expert swimmers would be made available to tackle any eventuality.

SP Abhinav Khare said that for maintaining security during Panchalinga Darshan, 20 Deputy SPs and 60 Police Inspectors would be deployed along with 5,000 Constables and added that surveillance cameras would be installed at Mudukuthore temple.

PWD Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, MP R. Dhruvanarayan, MLA P.M. Narendraswamy, MLC R. Dharmasena, ZP President Mahadev, TP President Nataraj, Vice-President Kamalakshi Nagaraj and others were present.
