While the debate in favour and against the closure of NTM Kannada medium government school, which is facing a shortage of student strength, continues among the litterateurs and Kannada activists of the city, the Revenue and District In-Charge Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad chose, probably in keeping with the protocol of the meeting, not to allow the subject to be discussed during the quarterly progress review meeting of KDP (Karnataka Development Programme) at ZP auditorium yesterday.
The issue of NTM School was raised by K.R. Nagar MLA Sa.Ra. Mahesh, but even as DDPI Basavaraj began to speak staggeringly on the question, Minister Sreenivasa Prasad decided to move on to other issues on the agenda of the meeting.
The DDPI by then had clarified that the school’s land had been transferred to the name of Ramakrishna Ashram for the establishment of Swami Vivekananda Memorial and the Khata too has already been transferred.
