Former Minister S.A.Ramdas announced here that he, along with thousands of city BJP activists, will set out on a padayatra from city to Bangalore for BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s proposed rally on Nov.17.

Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Ramdas stressed the need for a strong leadership in the country, which only Modi could provide.

Hitting out at the Centre for weak leadership, which resulted in terrorism taking strong roots in the country and for rampant corruption which has brought untold sufferings to the common man, Ramdas said Modi was the only hope for the country.

Pointing out that Modi is receiving tremendous response whereever he addressed rallies, Ramdas called upon the party workers and the public to make Modi’s Nov.17 rally at Bangalore a huge success. The padayatra will be flagged off by former Cm Jagadish Shettar from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at 9 am on Nov.12 he added.

Referring to the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, Ramdas said that he was not a contender for the Mysore Lok Sabha seat and added that the party would field candidate other than him.

Former MYLAC Chairman M.V. Ravishankar who also addressed the meet, gave details of the padayatra’s schedule. The padayatra that commences at 9 am will cover 35 kms on the first day before halting for the night at Yeliyur near Mandya.

The Padyatra will cover 25 kms on the second day (Nov.13) before resting for the night at Nidaghatt in Maddur taluk. The padayatra on day-3 will

cover 28 kms before halting at Ramanagara and will resume the next morning (Nov.15) to reach Kengeri covering 26 kms.

The padayatra which will resume on Nov.16, will covering the remaining distance to Bangalore, where it will accorded a warm welcome, he explained

and added that city party leaders Mallappa Gowda, Yashawini Somasekhar, Somasundar and others will be in-charge of the padayatra arrangements.
