Mysore, June 4 (MTY&DM)-City remembered Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, the architect of Mysore, on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary today.

To mark the occasion, a portrait of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar was unveiled at the Mayor's Chamber this morning.

Later, Mayor Sandesh Swamy garlanded the statue of Krishnaraja Wadiyar at KR Circle.

Deputy Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, litterateur Dejagow, MP H. Viswanath, MLA Tanveer Sait, MLCs Sandesh Nagaraj, Chikkamadu, Corporators R. Lingappa, Nagendra, Parthasarathy, former Mayor H.N. Srikantaiah and other leaders too garlanded the statue.

Ursu Mandali

To mark the occasion, Ursu Mandali Sangha here took out a procession of a huge portrait of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar on a decorated open jeep from Ursu Mandali office on Thyagaraja road in city.

The procession, which passed through Agrahara Circle, New Sayyaji Rao Road culminated at KR Circle where the members of the Mandali and others garlanded the statue.

Chaya, ZP member Nalini Urs and others were present.
