Mysore, July 5 (JP)- The Youth Club 2010 of Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens was inaugurated by Justice Aravind Kumar of Karnataka High Court yesterday at the Zoo premises.

M.N. Jayakumar, Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Communication and Information) and B.K.S. Verma, eminent artist, were the chief guests. M. Nanjundaswamy, Chairman, Karnataka Zoo Authority, presided. The Zoo Youth Club, now in its 16th edition, enrolled 60 members from various schools and colleges in the age group of 12 to 18 years. Classes for the Youth Club members will be held on all Sundays from 9.30 am to 1 pm. The Youth Club courses last for 25 weeks. All members were supplied with T-shirt, caps, bags, briefing books and other study materials. According to Yatish Kumar, Zoo Executive Director, the programme will deal with education, research, breeding of endangered species and conservation. He said that more than 30,000 people have been involved in various outreach programmes.
