It has been reported that Shivashankar, a temporary employee of the Mysore City Zoo, was recently injured after being attacked by an elephant.

Now, the members of Mysore Zoo Authority Temporary and Contract Basis Employees’ Association has urged for adequate treatment and compensation to Shivashankar.

According to Association President A.M. Nagaraj, Shivashankar was admitted to Shantaveri Gopalagowda Hospital in Mysore city by the Zoo authorities, but was discharged and sent home from the hospital in an hour even though he had not fully recovered.

“However, when Shivashankar complained of severe pain, he was admitted to the same hospital again,” said Nagaraj and alleged that the Mysore Zoo officials had forcibly got Shivashankar discharged, before he had fully recovered.

Nagaraj sought compensation for the Mysore Zoo worker and demanded that a case must be booked against the contractor too, under whom Shivashankar is working.
