The University of Mysore today presented its Rs. 33.17 crore deficit budget for the year 2013-14 at the 4th General Syndicate meeting held at the Board of Management Hall in the premises of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) in Manasagangotri here.
Presenting the budget, the University Finance Department Director Chandrakumar said that the major allocations were pay and allowances- Rs. 96.07 crore, general administration-Rs. 5.17 crore, Pension contribution- Rs. 3.5 crore, teaching, research and extension activity-Rs. 5.9 crore, student welfare measures- Rs. 4.45 crore, campus maintenance- Rs. 7.9 crore and examination activity- Rs. 9.7 crore.
He added that the bulk of the receipts would be through government block grant- Rs. 105 crore; admission, registration and affiliation fees- Rs. 15 crore and examination fees-Rs.16 crore.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Rangappa presided. Registrar Prof. P.S. Nayak and all Syndicate members were present.
