Bangalore, Mar. 13 (KMS& KMC)- The Mysore-Nanjangud National Highway will be converted to two-lane road. This was announced by PWD Minister C.M. Udasi at the Assembly session here yesterday.

Replying to the proposal put forth by H.S. Mahadevaprasad during question hour, Udasi said that considering the number of accidents occurring on the road, the State Government intended to construct a four-lane road on the stretch. However, the Centre denied permission for four-lane and instead, will take up the road construction works under the National Highway Development Project (NHDP) with public participation.

To another query posed by MLA Sathyanarayana about Mini Vidhana Soudha in Mysore, Udasi said that the construction work will be completed by May 2010. The work had been delayed because of the construction being done as per the design made by Vaastu experts and architects.

The bridge construction work near Sagara Katte in Mysore will be taken up after the KRS backwater level decreases, the Minister told the Assembly.
