Following a directive from the Deputy Commissioner to maintain cleanliness around the Mysore Palace premises and to make it a ‘plastic-free zone,’ officials of the MCC Health Department and Pourakarmikas, led by Health Officer Dr. Nagaraj, launched an intensive cleaning campaign this morning.
To keep the Mysore city downtown area clean all the time, DC Shikha has directed that the area be swept and cleaned twice a day.
She has also ordered that all construction works in the area should be finished in a few days, if not it has to be stopped and debris cleared.
At the M.G. Road market where the MCC Commissioner P.G. Ramesh had conducted an inspection yesterday and had directed to provide two garbage bins to dump the vegetable wastes, today the MCC has assigned a team of Pourakarmikas, equipped with tipper-autos to collect the vegetable wastes from these dustbins and directly transport them to Pinjrapole.
