Mysoora Utsava-2013, a Bharatanatyam recital and felicitation programme, has been organised by Vid. Sridhar Jain’s Sri Nimishamba School of Dance in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture, Bangalore, at Jaganmohan Palace in city on Sept. 19 and 20.
On Sept. 19, the programme will be inaugurated by art patron Srinath Rangaswamy of USA at 5.30 pm. Sanskrit Scholar and City’s Karavali Yakshagana Kendra President Vid. K. Krishnakumaracharya will be the guest of honour and Senior art critic S.R. Krishnamurthy will preside. Vid. M.C. Sujendra Babu, Founder, Kalpashri Performing Art Centre, Channapatna, will be feted.
Cultural programmes on the day include Bharatanatyam-Odissi duet by Vid. Raghunandan and Vidu. Manasi Raghunandan of Bangalore’s Kalasangama; Bharatanatyam by Vid. K. Gopal and disciples of Sagara’s Parinati Kalakendra and Bharatanatyam by Vidu. Mithra Naveen and disciples of Mysore’s Nadavidyalaya Academy of Music and Dance.
On Sept. 20, MLA Vasu will inaugurate the programme at 5.30 pm. Department of Kannada and Culture Assistant Director Nirmala Matapathi, Mysore District Youth Services and Sports Co-ordinator M.N. Nataraj and Rotary Mysore President Rtn. M.C.S. Manohar will be the guest of honour. Kannada and Culture Joint Director Mallikarjunaswamy will preside.
Noted vocalist Pt. Indudhar Nirodi and Chandrika Indudhar Nirodi couple will be felicitated on the occasion. Vid. Deepak Kumar and Vidu. Preetikala Deepak Kumar of Sri Mookambika Cultural Academy, Puttur, will present Bharatanatyam and Vid. Sridhar Jain and disciples of Sri Nimishamba School of Dance will present dance feature ‘Mahishashura Mardhini.’
