In a breakthrough in the murder case of Syed Khader (36), who was reportedly chased and killed by a few miscreants on July 1 at around 10.30 pm near Azeez Sait Nagar in Udayagiri Police limits, the Udayagiri Police have been successful in arresting three more persons including the main accused.

The arrested have been identified as Shakeel Ahmed, the main accused and Ghouse Moinuddin, both residents of Ghousianagar and Syed Niyaz of Bommanahalli in Bangalore.

The murder is said to be an act of revenge over the murder of one Jameel, who was allegedly killed by Syed Khader and his accomplice in 2010 near Panchamukhi Ganapathi Temple located opposite the private bus stand on Sayyaji Rao Road in Mandi Police limits.

The Police said that Shakeel Ahmed had given a supari (contract for killing) of Rs. 3 lakh to murder Syed Khader. Following a deal, Shakeel Ahmed along with 14 other accused followed Syed Khader while he was returning to his home in Shanthinagar in two cars and intercepted him near Azeez Sait Nagar, allegedly assaulting him with lethal weapons.

On seeing Syed Khader lying in a pool of blood, some passersby informed the Police Control Room and Udayagiri Police had shifted him to Columbia Asia Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Udayagiri Police Inspector R.P. Ashok and staff have been successful in arresting 5 out the 14 accused in the case. It may be mentioned, two accused were arrested last week. The other three accused were produced before the Court yesterday and remanded to judicial custody.
