The 2,000-km adventure Rally Challengers, who arrived in city from Mumbai yesterday riding their autorickshaws, resumed their journey this morning to Bangalore after staying overnight in city at Hotel Pai Vista.

The rally, which was flagged off from Mumbai on July 29, will reach Chennai on Aug. 9.

The rally was flagged off at Kukkarahalli School premises in Saraswathipuram here this morning by Namratha Shenoy, National Editor, Ladies Circle India. Round Table India National President Harish Shenoy, Vice-President Deepak Menda and others were present.

The rallyists, who arrived at Kukkarahalli Government School, adopted by Round Table, were given a warm welcome by the students.

The adventurers, as a token of gratitude, distributed sweets among the students.

Sandeep Mall, Spokesperson of Madras Midtown Round Table-42, who is also the convenor of the rally, speaking to Star of Mysore said that the Rickshaw Challenge — Mumbai Xpress- 2013 adventure runs for 14 days from Mumbai to Chennai, with 6 international rickshaw racing teams from UK, New Zealand, Russia, Australia and Germany, participating in an exhilarating journey across the length and breadth of the country.

Enroute, the participants of the Rickshaw Challenge-2013 will make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged by raising funds for various projects of Round Table India (RTI) under their flagship programme Freedom Through Education.

During the rally, they will also take part in a number of mini- races and challenges on a daily basis through which the contestants get an opportunity to form a meaningful connection to the places they visit.

In order to win the Rickshaw Challenge, the participants will have to rely on the locals at each destination to guide them along.

Marc, an adventurer from Australia, said that it was really a good experience to ride on the roads in India and added that apart from the rally they got a chance to meet different people and know about their way of living, their culture and tradition.

The rally will proceed to Bangalore today and stay overnight before resuming the journey to Vellore from where they will proceed to Chennai.
