It is now easy for citizens to track their applications submitted for specific services at the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) with the re-launch of ‘Spandana,’ the online service.

Speaking to press persons yesterday, MUDA Commissioner Dr. C.G. Betsurmath said that earlier in this programme, citizens could file an application for the specific work, but could not track the status; but now with the upgraded software, the applicants can easily track the status of the work.

The applicants can now check for the status at the touch-screen kiosk which is installed adjacent to Spandana counter at the MUDA office premises. The status information can be retrieved by keying in the reference number at the specified location on the monitor. The Authority has also tied up with a service provider to update the status of application through SMS.

Dr. Betsurmath added that the officials were bound to comply with the public requisition within the specified time. He also added that the Authority receives around 3,000 applications every month seeking various services. But with the introduction of time-bound delivery service system, the pendency rate was expected to come down.

MUDA has also introduced a helpline through which citizens can call (0821-2421629) to get the status information of the applications.

This apart, the MUDA website (www.mudamysore.gov.in) has been incorporated with new features which include a web monitoring system to apprise oneself of all the works being undertaken by MUDA. Currently, MUDA has uploaded details pertaining to 549 projects undertaken by the Authority. It also includes Court Case Monitoring System to help the MUDA Legal Cell to keep track of the various cases pertaining to land disputes and related issues. The information is available in both English and Kannada languages for the benefit of the public.

MUDA has introduced biometric attendance system to monitor the staff and ensure their availability for the benefit of public.
