Mysore, Nov. 4 (KCU)- The second meeting of the Telecom Advisory Committee of Mysore Telecom District was held recently at the Regional Telecom Training Centre (RTTC) auditorium in T.K. Layout here.
Participating in the meeting, MP H.Viswanath suggested that BSNL should provide connectivity to tribal settlements too through viable schemes.
Chamarajanagar MP R. Dhruvanarayan advised to hold BSNL subscribers' meet once in two months at taluk centres. He asked to get tele-com service improved at MM Hills, B.R. Hill and Gopala-swamy Hill.
Briefing the meeting about the development in telecom service in Mysore and Ch'nagar districts, BSNL Gen. Manager G. Gowrishankar said: "There are 226 mobile towers functioning in Mysore Telecom District and 72 more will be added before March 2011. Every month about 10,000 new mobile connection are being given. About 1274 3-G mobile connections too have been given and about 22,000 broadband connections are functioning."
Advisory Committee members R.K. Shivanna, S.Ramu, Mahesh, Younus Khan, S. Basa-varaj, H.S. Jagadish Murthy, Siddaramu, T.H. Manjunath, H.M. Shivakumar, S. Srikantamurthy, Mugur Nanjundaswamy, R. Ma-hadev, Fayaz Ahmed, Nandaku-mar and Chandrakala took part.
