Mysore. Mar. 13 (DM&KK)- The City Police today unearthed yet another money-tripling racket and arrested one person in this regard.

The accused Shreyas , 26, claiming to be the Principal of Mahatma Gandhi First Grade College in Kalyanagiri, was arrested by the Nazarbad Police.

Shreyas, a resident of Ahimsa Marga in Siddartha Layout, along with his father Gopinath, a trader of APMC and his aunt Poornima, extolled people claiming that Shreyas, being an MBA graduate, was running a highly rewarding Punjab-based Government Employment Scheme under the banner Mission Rozgar and lured them into investing Rs. 650 each for each application form issued.

About 300 people, including educated women and youth, falling prey to the assurance that their money would triple in a short period of time, invested in the scheme.

Shreyas had also appointed two agents for enrolling members, it is learnt.

Shreyas' aunt Poornima, who operated a Bhajana Mandali in the area, too lured the public for investing money in this scheme, it is learnt.

But, Shreyas after collecting money from 'members' of the dubious scheme operated by him, began to give a slip to them every time they visited his house in Siddarthanagar. This created doubts in the minds of investors, following which they informally lodged a cheating complaint against Shreyas with Nazarbad Police.

Shreyas gave a slip to the Police too every time they went to his house, with his parents saying that he was out of station.

But the members of the scheme, acting on a tip off that Shreyas had come to his college last afternoon, met him following which he was handed over to the Police.

Nazarbad Police have registered a case of cheating against Shreyas and are investigating.
