Krishnaraja MLA M.K.Somashekar yesterday said that he had submitted various proposals to Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on undertaking various developmental works in city.
Addressing a press conference at Patrakarthara Bhavan, he said that the Government had agreed to provide Rs. 6 crore for manufacture of soft silk at the Government Silk Factory in Chennapatna and added that he has urged the CM to release the remaining 3.56 crore for completion of the project.
He also said that he has submitted a Rs. 21 crore proposal for construction of corporate office and upgradation of Silk Factories at T.N.Pur.
Cheluvamba Hospital
He said that he had sought financial aid for development of KR and Cheluvamba Hospitals in city to provide better services and added that the proposal for the purchase of equipments at a cost of Rs. 14 crore had also been submitted.
Stating that the city required a Trauma Care Centre on the lines of NIMHANS in Banga-lore which could be set up at the P.K.Sanitorium premises, he said that he had submitted a proposal for the release of Rs. 30 crore for the Centre.
Ashraya Houses
The MLA said that he had submitted a proposal for construction of necessary infrastructure like underground drainage, sewage line, storm water drains and roads for Ashraya houses which were lying unallotted for past 15 years at a cost of Rs. 251 crore.
Stating that various developmental projects in K.R. constituency and city had been discussed at the KDP meeting at MCC auditorium, he said that officials had prepared an estimate of Rs. 178 crore for the same and urged CM to release the required funds.
Tourism: As Mysore is a major tourist spot, various projects need to be undertaken to promote tourism which will also provide employment to locals and physically challenged, Somashekar said and added that he had submitted a proposal in this regard also.
