Usually any Minister irrespective of his or her status is always surrounded by party leaders and activists.
However, Minister for Urban Development S. Sureshkumar seems to be quite different.
When he went round the city inspecting MUDA works yesterday, not a single party worker or leader was around him except the concerned officials. When curious media persons questioned the reason behind that, the Minister said, "What does a party activist or leader do here? I had told them not to waste time being with me".
The unassuming Suresh Kumar clad in trousers and long shirt (Jubba) got in to the mini bus at Vartha Bhavan arranged for media persons. When even an ordinary Minister demands a special car with a beacon, Suresh Kumar going with media persons and mingling freely with them was highly appreciated.
The Minister even politely refused bouquets offered by officials asking them to shun formalities.
Let us hope every Minister takes a cue from Suresh Kumar`s behaviour and emulates him.
