Mysore, July 28 (KK&KMC) - Heritage Workshop, a four-day training programme by a UNESCO team for the top officials of Urban Development and Town Planning Department, will be held at Rani Bahadur Institute on Hunsur Road in city.
The workshop will be inaugurated by Urban Development Minister S. Suresh Kumar on July 31 at 10 am.
The training is a part of the programme to transform Mysore and Srirangapatna into a heritage tourism centre on the lines of Hampi in Bellary district (having ruins of erstwhile Vijayanagara empire).
The workshop for 110 officials will dwell on the planning of a heritage city, preserving its monuments, area to be developed, etc., according to sources.
