Co-operation Minister H.S. Mahadeva Prasad reviewed the newly launched core-banking facility at the Mysore-Chamarajanagar District Central Co-operative (MCDCC) Bank here yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahadeva Prasad said the fully computerised core-banking system will be of much help to farmers and rural populace.
Lauding the Co-operative Banks for extending loan facilities to farmers, the Minister observed that these banks played a key role in improving the economic conditions of farmers.
Pointing out that the government’s intention was that all economic benefits announced by it reached the doorsteps of the farming community and rural folk, Mahadev said the Apex Bank, DCC Banks and other co-operative institutions were helping the government by advancing loans and timely financial aid to farmers.
Complimenting the role of DCC banks, MLA Vasu, who was the chief guest, observed that the co-operative sector stood first in extending facilities directly to the farming community and rural folk. MCDCC Bank President C. Basavegowda, who delivered the keynote address, gave a brief talk about the core banking facility introduced in the bank and the bank’s growth.
Bank Vice-President S. Siddegowda, Directors P. Nagaraj, K. Umashankar, Anjaneya, B.V. Seshadri, Venugopal, H.K. Ramesh, Cheluvarajegowda, Madivalappa, Dy. Registrar of District Co-operative Societies Joshi and others were present.
