Mysore, Mar. 9 (RK&DM)- A motorcyclist Y.S. Nandeesh (26), working as a medical representative in city, was killed on the spot when a lorry ran over him near the SP Office Circle in city this morning.
Nandeesh, son of Yellappa and a native of Davangere, was going towards the SP Office Circle from Karnataka Police Academy side on his Apache motorcycle (TN-39, AR-806) at around 10.15 am, when he is said to have lost his balance and fell off the bike to his right.
A lorry (KA-16, D-5553 ) laden with LPG cylinders coming from behind ran over the youth, killing him on the spot.
The lorry driver has since fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle at the spot.
The motorcycle belonged to one of his friend Kiran who was a little ahead riding on another motorcycle, according to Police.
Devaraja Traffic Inspector B. Ramachandra, PSI Kantharaj, NR Traffic Police Sub Inspector Nagesh and other staff visited the spot and registered a case. The body was shifted to KR Hospital mortuary.
