Mysore, June 29 (KK&KMC)- The stretch of road between Dodda Gadiyara and Chikka Gadiyara in city will be made a hawker-free and no-parking zone, said Mayor Sandesh Swamy.

Speaking to press persons during his inspection of the spot this morning, Swamy said there were complaints about the dilapidated and abandoned stalls near the Subrahmanyeshwara temple close to Makkaji Chowk that had turned into a vice den, with people urinating in the open space.

The Mayor said that the City Corporation will be providing a public toilet in the vicinity and the storm-water drain that has been clogged at several spots, will be renovated. Road widening will also be done, he assured.

Swamy said that he would ask the Corporation Commissioner, the Police Commissioner and other officials concerned to inspect the spot after the Legislative Council polls and initiate action to make the area free of hawkers and haphazard parking.

Corporators Chinni Ravi, K.V. Mallesh, Zonal Asst. Commissioner Thimmappa were present.
