“Students should not look for paths of least resistance during their educational career,” advised Dr. Lingaraj Gandhi, Director, College Development Board, University of Mysore.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a personality development programme organised by Maharaja’s College at their Centenary Hall here yesterday for the students of 2013-14 batch.

Dr. Lingaraj pointed out that the students tend to surf the internet to seek information on any subject but refrain from referring books or discussing with resource persons which should be minimised.

He regretted that corruption played vital role in every sector as students tend to pursue education only to land in plum positions to make easy money with no quest for knowledge.

He advised the students to take part in extra curricular activities also for an overall development instead of just focusing on academic scores.

College Principal Prof. S.N. Gayatri, Criminology Professor G.K. Anand, heads of all departments and others were present at the function.

Gold Medallist and alumnus of the college Priyanka Manchale was felicitated on the occasion.
