Mysore, July 20 (MRS)- The low level in KRS reservoir near here has caused anxiety among the farmers and general public, who depend on River Cauvery for irrigation and drinking water.
Poor monsoon in Kodagu district has led to the grim situation. The level today stood at 85.75 ft against its maximum level of 124.80 ft. The inflow is as poor as 1,766 cusecs.
This day last year, the level was 113 ft. and inflow was 50,000 cusecs.
The farmers of Mandya and neighbouring districts are anxious about the fate of their crops.
Mysore and Bangalore, which depend on KRS for drinking water, may be in trouble if the level was not improved, which would be possible only if monsoon improves in Kodagu.
