The multi-speciality JSS Hospital on a 12-acre plot situated in Agrahara here is ready for service, claiming to offer quality healthcare at affordable prices.

Launched in 2008 with an outlay of Rs. 400 crore, the new hospital has ultra-modern facilities all housed in a heritage-styled structure.

The seven-storey hospital is said to house 1,700 beds in various wards, an ICU with 200 beds, 24 Operation Theatres, an auditorium to seat 500 people, a spacious canteen, over 30 departments, 70 specialist doctors and over 800 nurses.

An innovative pneumatic system is said to be installed in every ward to transport blood samples of patients to the laboratory and get the feedback at the fastest possible time.

A sewage water treatment plant with 10 lakh litre capacity is another plus factor at the hospital in which the treated water would be re-used for cleaning and gardening. A sprinkler automatic fire fighting system is another new addition at the hospital. The building is said to have 19 elevators and a huge parking space for vehicles.

President Pranab Mukherjee is expected to inaugurate the new hospital in September.
