Noted theatre personality Janaradhan aka Janni took charge as the Director of Rangaya Theatre Repertory this morning. He assumed charge following the State Government order which came after the recommendation of Ranga Samaja, the governing body of the Rangayana.

Later, speaking to media persons, Rangayana Director Janardhan thanked the Ranga Samaja for giving him an opportunity to work as the Director of Rangayana and mentioned that he would work towards giving a smooth administration, taking both the administration and artistes together.

Janardhan said the B.V. Karanth Museum, which has been approved by State Government, will be constructed inside Rangayana premises.

When asked about the Elisa, theatre director from Brazil, who wanted to direct a play for Rangayana, Director Janardhan said that at the time she came, the artistes were transferred to Dharwad and Shimoga.

She insisted to have all the artistes in Mysore together, following which all the artistes were brought back to Mysore. Unfortunately she had to return owing to financial and technical problems, he said.
