“Though health is more important than wealth, character is even more important,” said investment guru B.V. Rudramurthy and added that wealth must be earned by ethical means and part of that wealth must be used for the good of the society.

He was delivering a lecture on ‘Investment alternatives yielding highest returns (with special focus on gold, silver & shares)’ at a programme organised by Bhavan’s Priyamvadha Birla Institute of Management, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) in city this morning.

Most of the charity in society is done by the rich, he said and called upon the wealthy citizens to be compassionate towards the needy. Explaining about investments, Rudramurthy said that investments can be made either using savings or with borrowed funds. One has to increase income and decrease expenditure to make savings, he advised.

Earlier, NIE Vice-President M. Sreepada Rao, speaking as the chief guest, said that character was most important than earning wealth while money was needed only for survival and comfort.

BVB Karnataka Chairman N. Ramanuja presided. The auditorium, with a seating capacity of 200, was jam-packed and eager listeners stood outside the auditorium too.
