Mysore, Mar. 17 (RK&SH)- Preparations made by the Pre-University Department for the smooth conduct of the II PU examinations commencing tomorrow, were discussed by the Deputy Director of Pre-University Education K. Chandramma with the Principals, Block Education Officers, Chief Superintendents at Maharani PU College premises today.

Elaborate preparations were made for the examinations that will be held up to Mar. 31.

Question papers have been safely kept in the District Treasury and Taluk Treasuries.

Three squads have been formed for distributing the question papers to examinations centres. All the officials deputed for examination duty should collect the question paper bundles of the day, deliver to the centres and obtain acknowledgment from the incharge of the centres. They should exercise utmost care in collecting questioning papers according to time table, taking care to maintain confidentiality. Government vehicles have been provided for use of the officials, Chandramma said.

No student should be made to sit on the floor for writing the examination. Prohibitory orders will be in force in 200 metres radius around each exam centre.

Drinking water for the students should not be supplied through messengers but should be kept ready at the centre. Handicapped candidates should be provided with adequate facilities as instructed by the Authority.

In Mysore District, total 32,844 candidates are writing the exam, of which 22,693 are freshers, 8,095 repeaters, 2056 are private candidates. There are 21 centres in Mysore city, 18 in rural areas.
