Years after various organisations, associations, individuals and even politicians crying hoarse over the un-motorable condition of the Hunsur-Anechowkoor-Thithimathi road — a major link between Karnataka and Kerala via Kodagu district — the State government has cleared all hurdles in the way of the road’s repair and has set Feb. 27 for launch of the work.
Speaker K.G. Bopaiah, who represents Virajpet Assembly constituency, said that several technical problems and shortfalls in the tender process have been overcome and the road work scheduled to commence on Feb. 27 will be taken up on a war-footing. It is a Rs. 32 crore project, said Bopaiah and added that one Govardhan has bagged the contract.
