Mysore, Oct. 18 (KCU&RK)- City Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal commended the entire Police personnel and others for helping to organise a totally hassle-free Dasara this time.

Speaking to SOM at his office here today, Sunil Agarwal pointed out that the Dasara programmes were very well-planned to arrive at a benchmark to improve further in the coming years.

"The people-friendly Police personnel made a notable difference this time in helping the tourists. Dasara can never be viewed as just a fair but infact is a confluence of an array of themes showcasing culture, entertainment and others covering literally every aspect of life. From next year, Dasara will be managed as a State-level event with wider management."

"The Torchlight Parade featured Laser show on par with the one staged at Commonwealth Games in Delhi and a few rare events like the acrobatics on rings of fire by an African troupe. A well organised rehearsal helped a lot to avoid any glitches.

"Passes issued for Dasara procession and Torchlight Parade were issued in requisite numbers to match the number of available seats thus avoiding confusion.

"Deputy Commissioner, Addl. DC, MUDA and City Corporation Commissioners and all officials too deserve the laurels for their excellent co-operation in staging the Dasara festival", said Agarwal.

In appreciation of their good work, the Police Commissioner hosted lunch for the Police personnel today at Hotel Regaalis.
