As a result of the good work done by former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy during his 20-month tenure and subsequent failure of the BJP govt., there is a Kumaraswamy wave sweeping across the State even in areas like Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada, said former KHB Chairman G.T. Devegowda (GTD) here this morning.

Addressing a press meet at a private hotel in city, he said that the remarks made by former CM D.V. Sadananda Gowda against him for deserting the party after reaping benefits applied more to those who underwent Operation Kamala and not him.

He further said that he had not gained anything from BJP as claimed by the party leaders.

MLC Chikkamadu, speaking on the occasion, said that the JD(S) will win in 35 of the 65 Wards in MCC mainly due to the good works done by Kumaraswamy.

He also said that except in Wards reserved for SCs and STs, the JD(S) has accommodated candidates of all communities in the interest of social justice and true to the name of the party being secular.

MLA S.R.Mahesh, MLC Sandesh Nagaraj and others also spoke. City JD(S) President Rajanna, Vasu, M.T.Kumar, R.D. Vishwanath and others were present. Later, they went canvassing for party candidates.
