With just two days left for the grand Jumboo Savari procession, the Bannimantap parade ground, the venue of the glittering Torchlight Parade, is getting geared up for the show.
The seating arrangements for VVIPs, other guests and the public are almost complete and CC cameras and barricades are erected at each gate to ensure security.
This morning a military Police team from Bangalore, comprising of 33 members were practicing stunts for the event.
The Military Police team will perform a total of 62 shuts, accoridng to Subedar M.G. Rajan of the Military Police. Meanwhile, Dasara seating arrangements and protocol Sub-Committee Vice-President Shivanna speaking to SOM said the Torch Light Parade Ground has a seating capacity of 22,000 and 8,000 tickets and 1,000 gold cards have already been sold. A total of 3,000 chairs will be arranged as part of seating arrangements. The public can enter the venue at 3.30 pm, with the programme set to commence at 6.45 pm, he added.
200 Police personnel had been deployed at the venue for security.
