Mysore, Mar. 7 (DM)- The six employees of Grand Maurya Hotel who had been seriously injured in a road accident on Feb. 6 and were being treated at Supriya Hospital in city, were provided financial aid by various benefactors of the city to pay their hospital bills.

Readers may recall that conflicting reports had appeared in various city dailies about payment of their hospital expenses.

Additional DC Dr. C.G. Betsur-math, after discussions with DC P. Manivannan, held talks with several leading hoteliers. Subsequently, Hotel Owners Association President Rajendra gave Rs. 20,000 while the proprietor of Grand Maurya Hotel, Nagaraj, chipped in with Rs. 55,000.

Manivannan had paid a visit to Supriya Hospital on Mar. 4 to enquire about the progress of the injured hotel workers.

Meanwhile, M. Jagannath Shenoy, President, Silent Shores and its Manager Jairam Patel made a contribution of Rs. 1,40,000 for meeting the hospital expenses while another Rs. 27,558 was contributed by Silent Shores Hotel employees. Riyaz Prabhu Mathew, Proprietor of Western Hotels Hospitality Services also donated Rs. 15,000.

Supriya Hospital also gave a discount of Rs. 1 lakh on the bills. With the hospital expenses finally met, the workers will now be discharged.

The DC has thanked all the concerned who came forward to help the workers K.K. Mahadev, Mahesh, Praveen, Manjunath, Mahadev and Indresh who had been under treatment.
